Billie Eilish, born December 18, 2001 in Los Angeles, is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her debut single, Ocean Eyes (written by her and her brother Finneas O'Connell), released in March 2016, was a huge success, garnering nearly 87 million streams by July 2016. Her debut EP, Don't Smile at Me, was released in August 2017. Two months later, following its success, Apple named Billie Eilish its new Apple Music Up Next artist.
In March 2018, Billie Eilish announced the creation of her clothing brand, Blohsh. In March 2019, her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, was released, written and produced with her brother. It reached number 1 on the US Billboard 200 and recorded the third-highest number of streaming sales for an album by a female artist (equivalent to 313,000 units sold), in addition to 170,000 physical album sales. It also reached number one in the UK, Canada, and Australia. The album features the following four singles: When the Party's Over, Bury a Friend, Wish You Were Gay, and Bad Guy, the latter of which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
She was also the first musician born in the 21st century to top the Billboard Hot 100, as well as the youngest singer to top the chart in ten years, since Demi Lovato.
